The WMFC acquired this aircraft as a project in early 2024. The goal of the project is to transition into a six-place aircraft at a significantly lower cost, while also giving members the opportunity to participate in a hands-on project and, if desired, work toward their A&P. With the support of our club mechanics and the volunteer efforts of our members, our target is to have the aircraft airworthy by summer 2027, with securing the necessary funding remaining the primary challenge. 

We are excited to build this aircraft in a way that best fits the needs of the club. Since the purchase, we have stripped the interior, completed extensive cleaning, removed and partially reinstalled new windows, installed new fuel bladders, and prepped and painted all tail surfaces. 

The project has been largely paused over the past year due to several major repairs and annuals within the primary fleet. We are aiming to resume work in April/May 2026.
